It’s been a while.
The last four years were some of the most intense of my career. I pushed hard, learned a lot, and gave a great deal of myself to the work. It was rewarding in many ways, but by the end of it I was running on empty.
So I took a break. A proper one.
And it was exactly what I needed. I used the time to slow down, reset, and take care of myself in ways I’d been putting off for too long. I lost weight, picked up running, and somehow turned gym sessions into an actual habit rather than something I’d guiltily think about on Sunday evenings. I got back on the bike. I started reading again. I enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, something I’d wanted to do for years but never made the space for.
Now I’m starting a new adventure, and I find myself energised in a way I haven’t been in a long time.
Part of that energy is going back to writing. I used to enjoy sharing what I was learning here, and I want to do that again. The plan is simple: at least one article a month. Topics will mostly live in the world I work in — Kubernetes, HPC, Linux, Observability — but I might occasionally wander into the maths degree or whatever else is occupying my brain.
No grand promises beyond showing up consistently. Let’s see where it goes.
Good to be back.
